Hello Everybody, 

When people disappoint you, that’s going to happen, when people betray you, that’s going to happen, when people lie to you, that’s going to happen. Or when they say you can count on me and then you never see them again. And that’s gong to happen. When you want to throw in the towl that’s going to happen. When life catches you by the blind side that’s going to happen. When a person you love hurts you, that’s going to happen. When someone leaves you, that’s going to happen.

The point of the story is simple.

What does not kill you only makes you stronger. Who you surround yourself with is exactly who you are going to become. All successful people have the ability to focus on what is possible in any situation. What positive results can come from this? No matter how much negative feedback they get from their external world. They only think in term of possibilities. Surround yourself with these types of thinkers and watch your success soar.

Whom I will always remember and never forget. What a memory to look back on this blog post in years to come. To remember the phone call, getting great advice from my best friends and family. Writing from the penthouse that overlooked the ocean in my king sized bed and getting the biggest hug from my mom. Was it a coincidence my mom happened to be visiting at this time? Do I need to say more. What new adventure will come out of this? Who will enter my life and be very thankful of this circumstance? Where will I be 6 months from now? I had an amazing four-month journey with this wonderful person. Thank you for being you and spending four wonderful months in my life.

 The secret to living is giving.  Don’t sweat the small stuff, everything is small.

Are You To Blame?

The adults are to blame

As a nation, we spend a lot of time talking to our kids about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and Internet safety, but being fat and obesity rarely come up. Yet it’s clearly one of the biggest concerns around the world today and poses dangerous consequences to our children’s physical, mental and emotional health. Let us reverse this epidemic by creating a healthy nation, healthy home life and regularly talking with our kids starting as young as three years of age about the importance of eating right and engaging in regular physical activity.

Here are a few things that we as a healthy nation could do to begin to make this country healthy.

1. Ban the advertising of all sodas, junk foods and processed foods around the world.

2. Remove junk food vending machines and fast food restaurants in schools and hospitals.

3. Tax the sale of junk foods; take the funds to air advertisements teaching healthy nutrition and lifestyles.

4. All packaging of junk food must have a disease warning to be printed on the labels. “Warning: Drinking soda promotes diabetes.” Just like the Surgeon General’s warning on cigarettes.

5. Ban all toxic chemical additives in foods.

When are kids are growing up on toxic diets and junk food, how can we expect them to lead our country someday. How can we expect to create a nation of truly healthy and happy people when their bodies are being filled with so much negativity?

How to take responsibility for your life

Take responsibility for your life

What side are you on the cause side or the effect side?

This will determine if you are going to achieve lasting results in your weight and your life.

A cause, causes a certain effect.

If you are on the cause side, you take responsibility for your entire life. That means taking responsibility for your weight, responsibility for your health and responsibility for your life. 

If you are on the cause side, you say I am the creator of my life. Everything that happens in my life I create. Nobody else but me. You create all the effects that happen in your life.
 
If you are on the effect side of the equation, you are saying that everything that happens to me is the cause of somebody else. The majority of people live on the effect side. Therefore never reaching their true potential. The only way to have a successful life is to take full responsibility.

Who is driving your bus?

Live on the cause side and start driving your own bus. If you live on the effect side, you are going to end up with lots of reasons. Therefore never achieving the true healthy life you want.

Have you spent most of your life on the reasons side? 

You either have reasons or you have results. Their’s no in between. Reasons are excuses.  When my staff comes to me with a bunch of reasons, I tell them to come back to me with three solutions.

If you make the choice to be on the cause side, it is the most fulfilling side to be on. Most of society chooses to be on the effect side of the equation. The problem is many people have a mentality where they think if we first do not succeed let’s blame everyone else. Therefore losing your personal power.

As soon as you make the choice to put the cause outside of yourself, you are giving up your personal power. Your personal power is going to somebody else or some thing that now has control over you. People say things like he makes me so mad. Nobody can make you feel anyway but yourself.

Live on the cause side and keep your personal power.

When my weight loss clients choose to live on the cause side, their weight completely starts to change. There is power in taking responsibility.

How to increase your motivation

 Hello Everyone,

Best-selling author Tony Robbins says, “There are two things that motivate people to success: inspiration and desperation.”

As proof of desperation as a motivator, I could be on the top of the list. I remember the time in my life when I could barely afford to eat, was over weight, addicted to drugs, had no sense of direction. To find my creator was like looking for a needle in a haystack. The distaste of those current situations drove me to change and turn my life around.

How did I really go from a life of misery? to living in a penthouse that overlooks the ocean, to being in great shape, to dining at the finest restaurants, to having amazing friendships, to being clean of drugs, to finding my creator and myself.

I learnt simple mental strategies that I could apply to everyday life. Strategies that kept me motivated.

High achievers say it takes motivation to reach your goals.

Motivation to shift out of desperation or to have a great amount of inspiration.

I would like to share with you a neuro-lingustic programming technique.  I have used this technique to get and keep myself  motivated to achieve my goals.

How to increase motivation

1. Valuable task. Think of something that you know would be valuable for you to do, but you have a hard time getting around to doing it.

2. Check for objections. Pause to ask all parts of yourself if any part of you has any objection to your actually carrying out this task. Be sensitive to any objections. If you can’t easily satisfy any objections that do come up, think of something else that no part of you objects to.

3. Results and Consequences. Think about the end result of getting this task done-not the process of doing the work, but the positive benefits to you. How will you gain in many ways from getting this done? how do you think about these benefits now?

4. Change Submodalitites. Make the images of you getting the task done bigger, closer, more colorful, your having fun, you hear your favorite song, add in pleasant sounds, encouraging voices, or whatever else makes an experience attractive and compellingly motivating for you. Keep doing this until you feel strongly attracted to the task.

The pictures that we often run in our heads determine if we are motivated towards something or moving away from our goals.

people.  All together in this survey there were 194 countries. 

In reality with the population of the U.S is nearly 20,000 times
that of the number one country Nauru, clearly the U.S take the cake as the fattest country in the world.  Maybe we should say “eats the cake” instead. 

My home country of Canada cannot be very proud either, coming in at
35 in the rankings.

However, I am proud to live in the community called Yaletown which is located in downtown Vancouver British Columbia.
Which was just ranked one of the fittest cities in Canada. Our trick is we have boarder patrol. You’re not aloud to leave our community unless you’re a certain weight. A weight that is healthy for you. Once you make that weight, the boarded patrol let’s you leave to explore the rest of the city. It is a very unique by law that we have but it works. 

Ok let’s be realistic I am just playing with you now. We do not have boarder patrol and we do not have a by law. However, it would sure be interesting if we did. Their would be a lot more, healthy people across the world if every community had a by law similar to this. 

Hey, we might even start to put the junk food corporations out of business. “Well I can only dream”. 

Research shows that if the current trends continue at least half the population will be obese by 2032. In less than 15 years, 86 percent of men will be overweight, and 70 percent of women will reach the same level of obesity with in 20 years time. 

Are you not excited what were going to do our kids? This is the first time ever in the history of the world, that we may actually out live our kids life span. Nice future were creating for generations to come… 

As Gandhi said, you have to become the change that you want to see in the world. 
 
I tell people repeatedly if you are not going to do it for yourself, if you do not care that much about yourself, to respect your body. At least do it for the future generations to come, because your body should be treated like a temple. These are the kids that are going to lead the country. Each and everyone of us have to start becoming an example for the next generations. I do not care where you are right now in your weight. I don’t care either if your in great shape or your overweight but I do know it’s time to step it up and lead by example.

If you do have some weight to lose, which is most people reading this; you are really the ones that can inspire generation to come. That is, if you get motivated and create that change in your body. If you commit to achieving your ideal healthy weight goals. You will be the inspiration to millions of kids across the world. Kids that will feel if you can do it, they can do it. Therefore people, “let us start doing, instead of sitting of the sidelines  and watching.” If you notice, “I used the word do”. The word “do” is a very important word to use in your vocabulary; it motivates the brain to take action. You do not ever use the word practice. If you say, I am going to go practice to get better your really telling your brain you are not good  at something. You must say, “I will go out and do this thing.” 

The words that we say to ourselves determines our success or failure.

When you start “doing”, you start taking action on a consistent basis and action is what produces results. Knowledge is only good when it gets into the hands of someone who can “do” and take effective action.
 
What are you going to “do” to help with the biggest epidemic we have ever had in the history of the world? HOW TO HAVE SUPER SUCCESS

Our potential is determined strictly by your self-belief

The only thing that is keeping you from achieving all your life’s goals is the thoughts your thinking and what you keep telling yourself. What you think you can achieve or what think you cannot achieve, what you think is possible or impossible, is rarely a function of truly what we are capable of. 
 

It comes down to a function of our beliefs about who we are and what we can become.

All of you know that a firm believer in the power of the mind. The only way to go from ordinary to extraordinary is believe it is possible. If we believe we are destined for great things that’s what we will achieve. If we believe we are destined for mediocrity then that’s what we will achieve. If we believe that we are destined for super success, we will not settle for anything than but the best and we will not stop until we reach super success.

I have had the privilege to watch people tap into their personal power and literally change anything in an instant, this includes myself. We all have the resources we need within us to achieve super success. It’s just a matter of choosing the day your going to wake up and claim who you were born to be.  

The reasons why most people never create an extraordinary life is because their stuck in their own limitations of their mind. They settle for exactly where they are at in life because they don’t believe that they can do better or their scared of the fear of failure.
 

Failing to choose to step up and take your life to the next level is the greatest failure of all. ‘If you think you can’t, you have too. If you have too, you can.”

Let fear be a guide to bigger and better things. Not something that holds you back from your dreams. If your to comfortable in the situation your in, your probable not on the right track to live your dreams. Success takes doing the things that are a little or a lot uncomfortable.

Anytime you make the choose to create a change in your life, I mean a sincere and committed choose that you follow through on, the first thing you must do is raise your level for success. When people ask me what really changed my life 4 years ago, I say to them that absolutely the most important thing was I decided to commit to being more than I ever thought I could be.  I wrote down in very specific detail the exact person I wanted to become, I wrote down all the things that I would no longer accept in my life that were taking me farther away from my goals.

That’s the great thing about life. We have the ability to change in an instant. We have the ability to open ourselves up to the possibility that anything can happen in our life. All instant change starts with a change in belief.

So how do we change?

The fastest and quickest way to create a change is to get your brain to associate massive discomfort with your old belief. Start to really feel the feelings of that discomfort. You must really feel that this belief has caused you incredible bad feelings in the past and it’s even going to cost you more in the future. The new empowering belief that you gong to adopt is going to give you a lot of comfort. It’s going to give you incredible fantastic feelings.

Scientific research shows the brain is not hardwired. In any moment each and everyone of us can change the way we think.

It’s time to celebrate what an incredible future you have that lies ahead. You can create whatever life you choose. You have the ability to get yourself to take massive committed action until you succeed. You have all that you need within you.

WHO WERE YOU BORN TO BE?

 Hello Everyone,

These days, I wake in the morning looking forward to what’s in store with sense of excitement and purpose.

Who would of thought having a broken femur from my wake board accident one month later it would be possible to think this way. Who would of thought that I am already back in the gym working out my upper body. Who would of thought that I have more energy now than ever before.

As I talk with many people in the last few weeks from around the world, everyone wanted to know the secret to my success. The secret to get right back on track with that much more drive.

First I have been fortunate at a young age to find my life’s passion and purpose. If their hadn’t been dark times in my life and deep, I certainly wouldn’t be the person I am today. I certainly would not have found my passion and purpose in life. My passion to motivational speak, my purpose to change millions of people’s live across the world to live better lives.

Are you doing what you love? Have you found your passion and purpose in life? Are you stuck in a job you do not like? Would you do what your doing for free?

The secret that gets me going with a broken femur?

I love so much what I do that I would pay to do it. When You find your passion and your purpose in life you will get out of bed in the morning with excitement and curiosity for what’s next. No matter what state or shape your in.

How to have a good life

Hello Everyone,

Since I broke my femur bone in a wake boarding accident, I had plenty of time to watch the Olympics that has been both inspiring, entertaining and also has given me that much more motivation to achieve success.
The amount of dedication these people have towards their goals, gives me that inner hunger to take my success to the next level.

Now some of you who follow my motivational speaking career might think. I don’t need anymore motivation.
But the truth is sometimes we all need to experience a certain event in our lives, which that event will take us to the next level in our life. A little higher than the level were at right now.

Anytime an event happens in our life, it’s our choice to choose what meaning we attach to that event. From my  accident I choose that this was going to give me that much more motivation. Get on board with me, get behind me or get the xxx out of my way. Nothing is going to stop me from creating the world I envision around me.

It was the first time where that my mom had a chance to be my mom again. It was the first time that my younger brother and I got to live in the same house again with our mom. After more than 10 years.

The meaning that you attach to the events in your life can make you stronger or they can pull you down.

Just like an Olympian that trains his whole life for the Olympics but then comes in last. They can look at this as wonderful experience or they could attach a negative to the meaning of this event. That alone could break them down for a life time.

You can always find a positive meaning in an event. Sometimes you just have to look hard enough to find the positive meaning that you attach to that event.

Stop and take a look at yourself.

What type of meaning do you usually attach to the events that happen in your life?

Do you choose to attach positive meaning to what most people call negative experiences?

Stop and take a look at the people that you are most surrounded by. Are they the type of people that attach good meaning to certain experiences in their life or do they attach negative meanings to events. Where they just seem to get worse.

The people that you are surrounded by the most is exactly who you become.

You take on their beliefs, passions, energy, thinking, lifestyle and the meaning that they attach to their experiences.

What group do you surround yourself with the most?

The next time you catch yourself buying into anything that does not bring you pleasure, become aware of why, pause and say to yourself, “What other meaning can I gain from this experience! There is no more waiting; there is no better time to live than now.

If you find yourself around people that bring you down. I have one suggestion. Take on a get the xxx out of my way attitude. PERIOD.

Be strong with yourself. Never sacrifice your beliefs or values for someone else.

WAKE UP!

Hello Everyone, 

WAKE UP!” This was a common utterance from one of my hockey coaches lips. Whether I was practicing, in a game, on the bench or simply sitting in the dressing room, my coach was constantly provoking me to wake up to the present moment-and stay in it. Get in the game Shane Jeremy James. You’re a leader of this team. Leaders don’t sit on the side line. Leaders are here now, in this present moment.

The moment I met him, I knew he was different than any of the other coaches I had practiced with or encountered over the years. 

It’s amazing how a simple act can completely transform our lives. An act like living in the moment day in and day out. You can change your entire life with no more effort than a shift in a single thought. A single thought to stay present in the moment. This may sound simplistic, but it’s exactly how my life began to change. In one critical moment you can change your life completely.

You just have to make that decision.

Imagine what your life would be like if you choose to live in the moment?

What happens if you were to right now choose to hear the sounds around you, smell the smells in the air, taste the taste in your mouth, see the little things around you that you normally would not see, feel the feelings in your body.

Come on try it. Their’s power in taking action. The more you take action it eventually becomes a habit and that habit becomes a behaviour.

If you just did the exercise, you were living in the moment completely. If you did not do the exercise, go do it right now.

Imagine the insights you will gain from living in the moment. When you start living in the moment, results will appear far more powerful than magic. You will become your own magician for change. You will start to undo the things that have been holding you back from success.

WAKE UP! Because the miracle is you.  Find freedom in your life, a place of bliss, a place of content, a place of alignment within yourself, a place of belief, a place of love and a place of happiness.

It’s impossible to control the future just as it is impossible to control the past. When I began to understand this, I made a shift in myself. I quite worrying about it. The sense of  inner peace the day I choose to let go of trying to be in control of my future. This brought me to the now to be able to live in the moment. So don’t cheat yourself.

You can’t control it because you can lose it.

By choosing to live in the moment, everything will start to fall in place.

Miracle Diet Pill

Hello Everyone,

One of the more popular psychology magazines stated, science may still be years away from giving us a miracle formula for fat loss.

Science is not a few years away from giving us a miracle drug it is a lifetime away.

What makes them think in the near future it will happen?  

This is what I call giving people false evidence that appears real.

Sure, you can pump up on ephridrine, get the metabolism going, throw down a cup of coffee, stack it with an aspirin and yes; you are going to lose weight.  But your heart may stop in the process.  You could be thin in a year but then dead in a year.
